Over the last two years we have come up with an estate sale game and a theory about how good an estate sale is based on this one thing. The Baby Boomer era and beyond, has a fascination with all things John Wayne. I don’t know if it’s because we are in Orange County, land of John Wayne (J.W. home listing), but the memorabilia is prevalent and we rate estate sales based on the Duke memorabilia. We believe this theory so much, that we have even collected a few things so when the day comes, way way down the road, our personal estate sale will be a success!
Game – first person to spot a picture of John Wayne, mug, lunch box, etc. is the winner. We don’t win anything other than the glory of being the first to spot The Duke. I’m still baffled by how much is out there!
Theory – if an estate does not have J.W. memorabilia, first off, the children of the family must have kept it, OR it’s just not a good sale! More times than not this theory has been proven and stands!!
