Spring Training Baseball With A Side Of The Florida Keys

Traveling from West Coast to East Coast makes for a long day. No way around it. I had us all up at 3:45 a.m. thinking we had at least a 40 minute drive to LAX. I’ve done this before, so double checking the itinerary is a requirement. I’ve actually dropped my Mom off, and left her at the wrong airport! Yes, we were loaded in the car, groggy, saying good-bye to The Girl (check out her blog http://www.LightandEnchantment.wordpress.com). I dug out our itinerary, and disgust spread across my face. Sure enough, we were scheduled to fly out of Orange County airport, which is just a quick 15 minutes away. We could have slept at least a whole 30 minutes more.

Does anyone else see this as an invite?

The real first day of vacation, once you arrive at your destination, is glorious. Yes, I said glorious. My Love and I live in the land of Palm Trees and beaches, so why would we go to the other side of country for more of the same? Why, Red Sox spring training of course; after my stealthy planned side trip to Key Largo / Ismoralada Island. Taking in the cultural differences of the people and the landscape is one of our favorite past times on vacation. Don’t get me wrong, the cocktails, relaxation, and increased frequency of carnal endeavors are what vacation is all about. Oh, yes, and this spring training thingy.

We thought about going out fishing today, but prices here are for the tourists. We will wait and go out at Dana Point, CA.

We're gonna need a bigger boat! Not the tourist fishing boats, but loved the grit of this one.
