Flea Market Ramblings

In the A to Z Blogging Challenge, the letter today is F. What better to chat about than flea markets. Yesterday, being the first Sunday of the month we have at least 3 options to hit in Southern CA: Rose Bowl in Pasadena, The Groves Antique Market in Irvine, CA. Yes, I was a snob before too thinking that any flea market in Irvine would most likely be a bust. I’m happy to say I was wrong! There is also the Melrose Trading Post, which is every weekend, but I haven’t made it in person yet. I do follow Melrose Trading Post on Instagram; looks like they have a great selection of vendors.

Well, unfortunately, I didn’t make it to any of these great first Sunday of the month spots. Instead I had to finish up my last long run before Santa Cruz Half Marathon next weekend. Boo!

Because I didn’t hit the flea markets, I don’t have any current pictures. It goes against my nature NOT to put at least one pretty picture in my post, so here is one from the Farm & Frills Antique Market in Enumclaw, WA. If you’re in the area, it’s at least twice a year and such a great show!

Atomic Hostess, I’m the writer of the Nuclear blog so we have that in common. I actually love flea markets although my house is constantly becoming more and more cluttered with all sorts of odds and ends. You can actually find a lot of great books some that you hadn’t thought of in years.

I like that old red phone in your picture. We do love flea markets. There are some small ones around us and we also go to a larger one in Arundel, ME every summer. And one of our family’s favorite shows is Market Warriors! 🙂

Thanks for stopping by Nancy! In our area we are lucky, there is a flea market just about every week. My favorite that I didn’t mention is the Long Beach flea market in Veterans Stadium. I do like that Market Warriors show too…fun to see what they find!

I thought about you the other day when I went into one of the antique stores here. They had gobs and gobs of old dishes and china.
I love the old sign. I’m always trying to find more of those for my hubby’s garage.
