Painting Frames

This week’s end project is to frame up three vintage brooches for display. Painting the frame will be my favorite part of the project, other than hanging them of course.

***

Started off with a solid covering of black acrylic paint

Then I just started layering and mixing white, raw sienna, and a couple different metallic paints, one by Martha Stewart – Thundercloud, and the other by Jacquard – Pearlescent White

Finished with a light brushing of black on the high spots, then removed the extra with a cloth.

I knew I wouldn't get the frames to match up - I think they do compliment each other though

Vintage frames and new (but inexpensive) frames are awesome. Usually the stuff you can find in a store is super generic. I love giving things my own personal touch (Audrey flair). I can see you like doing the same. -Audrey
