I have had, and loved this white metal bed frame since moving away from home, way way back in the day. My Mom received this bed frame from her brother’s wife, my Aunt Betty. Aunt Betty moved to Washington from Killdeer, North Dakota, legend is that this bed frame was used at their farm pig roast. The pig was on the bed frame, over the fire pit, cooking away. Is it true? I don’t know, but I like the story!
I was going to wait to do this one until after we move, but family consensus is that it should be done sooner. I just might be the only one that likes this bed frame! This week my AH Crafty Challenge is to do a makeover on the headboard. I’m going to sew up a slipcover to pretty it up. Maybe throw in a little padding? As of now I plan to leave the footboard as is; I love the way it bows out to hang quilts my sweet Mama has made for me, or finished for me.
What I Think I’ll Need:
Drag out the sewing machine
Find some cute fabric
Of course scissors
Kraft paper to make a pattern

Yesterday we went and picked out the fabric for this project; I think it’s going to look great.
