When we met with our new landlord for our initial house walk through, I noticed this very sad looking hanging light sitting in the middle of the patio. I made a point to ask if the light could stay; I’m pretty sure it’s future was dim, and it was destined for the landfill. The sad, lonely light fixture is the inspiration for this week’s Atomic Hostess Crafty Challenge – Outdoor Light & Patio Makeover.
If you don’t live in Southern California, you’re probably thinking it’s silly to be planning a patio makeover right now. If I were anywhere else, I know I would think it’s a nutty! I’ve been hoping for overcast, chilly weather for at least two months now, and I’m sure it’s nowhere in sight. It seems to always be patio season here; the 10 day weather forecast in Huntington Beach is around 80* average.
- My Vision:
- Paint and rehang light
- String outdoor lights
- Patio chairs – remove rust, fresh paint & seat cushions
- Outdoor / Seagrass area rug
- Not sure about this one yet….scallop drape fabric from patio beams
I know I’m excited about most of my AH Crafty Challenges. I’m especially looking forward to this one, this is a great spot to start the day with a cup of coffee, and a great spot to end the day with a glass of wine.
