If you are a neat freak, or have obsessive-compulsive disorder, turn around, do not proceed, do not scroll down to see my office before picture! BUT be sure to stop by Friday to see how this office makeover turns out.
I work from home, and spend a great deal of time in my always messy office. We moved to our current house two short months ago, and already, my office is a disaster. It’s not quite as bad as it was in the old house, but that’s the direction I’m headed. My office is where things wait to be photographed and listed on Etsy, made over, sewn up, and painted. Now add the stacks of work papers, and files awaiting completion. My mind set, aka problem no. 1, I think that if I put “it” away, I will forget to complete “it”. Problem no. 2, is “it” sits for so long, I get used to seeing “it” there, and I DO forget about “it”. It’s a virtual purgatory.
My challenge this week is to make my office visually pleasing AND organized. My plans may be too lofty to accomplish 5 short days, and this may end up being a two part project, but I’m going to give it a go.
My Plans Include…
- Paint walls
- Paint my Mad Men Desk
- New curtains – probably won’t have time to sew
- Hang vintage light fixture I picked up earlier this year
- Create pretty storage boxes & label them with contents
- Set up functional work space for work work, and crafting
Wish me luck!
Have a great week….stop by and see me Friday.
