Serenity Found On The Thrift Store Shelves

In the madness of the holiday season, where do you find your serenity, your center, your calm? Is it a place inside you, a location, is it on the beach path while jogging? My serenity is found on the shelves of a thrift store, or in a house hosting an estate sale.

Yes, jogging on the beach path always makes me feel good; even when it’s a bad run, it’s good (when it’s done). All things surrounding our vintage finds brings me happiness. The thrill of the find, the research of figuring out what the piece is, the creativity of photographing and editing, and then the story telling and blogging.

This is how I find serenity!

You know what I love about antique marts and thrift stores, etc? I like when I stumble upon a memory. I maybe don’t want to own the smoked amber lamp, but I take comfort in the memory of it. Stuff like that. My respite in the holidays is baking. Baking is so peaceful for me.
