A Glimpes Of The New Shop Concept – RARE by Goodwill

I read about the new boutique-y Goodwill Store last week, so we went to go check it out over the weekend. The idea is they select and set aside the special pieces that have been donated, to sell all in one location. RARE by Goodwill; it was fun to go into the store, and see the great selection of vintage housewares. It was shiny new, clean, and very well merchandised.

One of my favorite parts of the store, RARE, is the album listening station. My picture of this area didn’t turn out, but they have one area, with several record players, and a selection of albums for sale. Oh yes, and a couple bean bag-ish chairs. It almost felt like old times, the hours and hours my friends and I spent at Tower Records.

Word of warning! The store is nice, well merchandised, but I can go to any Goodwill, on any given day, and find great vintage pieces. I’m only referring to the housewares, I didn’t venture into the apparel much. I looked at the bags & purses, but didn’t see any “I can’t live withouts”.  If you’re in the Anaheim / Orange County area, it’s certainly worth the trip out.

Happy Shopping!

What a cool concept! However, half the fun is the thrill of the hunt…speaking of hunting, the housewares sections in my neck of the woods are lousy. 😦
