The day after Christmas, my Mama and I were out and about, and hit up the Salvation Army on the way home. We saw this sad little dresser in the back parking lot; it was marked down, marked down again, and yep, marked down again. I wanted it, I knew my Mom and I wouldn’t be able to load it in the truck. Leaving the store, sad, and without my dresser, I topped it off by running into the parking lot fence. Yes, I ran into their fence. Narrow driveway, post holiday drivers, and cell phones are to blame. Not my cell phone. Okay, I guess I’m to blame for the fence part, but I’m happy to report no dents, and no fence damage, phew!
After getting home, I mentioned the dresser to Jerry in passing. He surprised me early Monday morning, when he headed over to the store to go pick up the dresser rehab project for me. The dresser had just been loaded into the truck, off to an unknown destination, quite possibly the incinerator. The guys at the store were kind enough to unload it from their truck, and into ours. Yay!
So this week, my challenge is to make this beauty shine. I’m thinking a little gray paint here, a little white paint there, paint that laminate top, which I haven’t done before, AND I need to get rid of that hideous drawer liner paper. Overall, it shouldn’t be too bad (I can say that because I’ve actually already started, and I’m excited about her progress!).
