Dinner Table Chair (out-takes) – Dining Room Makover

This one is for you Christine at OneTipsyChick. She thinks that all of my projects turn out good. Often times, I’ll start in one direction, and then go off on a completely different trail. Most likely, that’s why she’s under this impression; she only sees the finally. Maybe I’ll even start posting “out-takes” of my blog projects. Could be pretty comical.

Okay, the chair isn’t done, not even close, but for whatever reason I thought I needed to strip it. This $5 thrift store find was horribly dirty, I’m not a fan of the white and oak (or whatever type of wood that is), but I’m pretty sure sanding could have cleaned up the chair, and made it ready for painting. AND with way less mess!

Trying to strip furniture with small nooks and crannies, nope, not recommended, don’t do it! I had paint bits in my hair, on my glasses, all over my clothes…..EVERYWHERE!

So, Christine, I dedicate this one to you!

Don't forget your protective gloves when using furniture stripper. I like mine extra fancy.

Side note: that’s my Papa’s signature tattooed on my arm. Boy, do I ever miss him; he would love all the projects we work on, and would be right there in the middle of it all……as long as the ballgame was within ear shot.

Covered head to toe in bits of paint - stripping chairs is for the birds, but then again, it looks like they flew over and did their business on me!

Not finished, but I wanted to share my blunders. I don't think it was worth the time to strip the paint

The chair isn’t finished yet, but I wanted to share my blunders. We typically only get to see the DIYer’s gorgeous end result, and not the chaos of how they got there.

Final reveal will be sent out to you soon….after I figure out what colors I’ll be using.
