I’m digging in the archives for projects I’ve finished, but haven’t had a chance to blog about.
In my thrift store adventures, I bought the lamp a couple years ago, and the lamp shade I thrifted a couple months ago, which will go in my Sweet Mama’s “room”. I’m saying that just for Jerry, he starts to twitch when I refer to our guest room as my Mom’s room. He teases….he loves her!
I love spray paint. I love it so much that I literally receive at least 20 cans of spray paint for Christmas. So many awesome finishes now. I started the lamp makeover a few months ago, first round of spray paint I started with layering gold over black. It looked good. The lampshade didn’t change midway; I painted it black, and black it stayed.
After looking at the set up for awhile, and with all the copper projects I’ve been doing lately, I decided to switch the gold lamp to copper. It’s the beauty of spray paint. Thirty minutes later, you have a completely new look!
Have you all noticed that the Goodwill receives a lot donations from Target? Not sure if it’s just a regional thing, but I find “Threshhold” branded items quite a bit. The thrifted lampshade was brand new, still in plastic, from the Threshold line.
Drumroll…here it is, the thrifted lamp and lampshade before & after!
I love the way the pattern of the lampshade shines through.
I love how this turned out, and the beauty is, when I’m tired of it I can whip out a couple cans of spray paint and change it completely.
