We went up to the Land of Giant Evergreens & Lupine, a.k.a. Seattle, to see my Sweet Mama and help her out with her honey do list (before it got any longer). The trips was quick, but I got to see my Mom, a few friends I haven’t seen in way too long, and my longtime BFF; all was right in my world again.
The first project on my list was a quick update to the bathroom vanity / cabinet. After trip one to the hardware store, I was able to get started. I took the doors and the hardware of the cabinet off, sanded everything down, and started painting. What should have been a two hour job, seemed to take me forever. I cannot for the life of me figure out why!
The bathroom overall is really cute, but the oak colored vanity / cabinet was hideous. No more! Check out the before and after. I set my alarm for 7 am on Sunday, it didn’t go off, so all the pictures and organizing I had planned to do was out the window cause we had a plane to catch. I do remember we used a flat light gray paint, with a wax past finish, and flat black spray paint for the hardware.
After painting the cabinet a light gray, the hardware black, and had no choice but to then paint the base boards. Oak colored base boards no longer fit.
I love how much lighter the bathroom looks.
First item knocked off the honey do list. I’ll have a couple more to share this week.
