About five years ago, the corporate office for my work-work decided to close down the regional office I worked out of. Luckily, they let us work from home rather than giving us the boot; as a single girl, with way too many bills, I was thrilled that they let us stay on and work from home.
My biggest worry about working from home? Where on earth would I put an “office” in my then 650 square foot apartment? The space that was too small to be called a dining room, was turned into my office space.
I jumped on Craig’s List and was able to find a black metal industrial desk, with a “wood grain” desk top. You have to love Craig’s List for some of the bargains. I paid a whole $25 for this one. I had every intention of painting the desk as soon as I got it, but after my friend Rustico hauled that thing up the stairs, there was no way I would be getting it down the stairs to paint.
The Before – yes, a bit rough, but such a functional desk
Fast forward five years….I went on a work trip, and Jerry cleaned up and painted my desk. I had picked out the color, but after seeing it, the color was too dark. The good news was, painted furniture here earns a name. Peggy!
Winston – Superb Supervisor!
This project has been a long time in the making, and I couldn’t be happier!
