I’m not sure why, but this TV entertainment console took me fOrEveR to paint. It is a TV Console, right? It’s a bit short, so I don’t think it would be a sideboard – buffet for the dining room (L 53.75″ x D 17.5″ x H 26.25″). Anyway, with this piece I was indecisive about what color to use, paint one color or use two, distress or don’t. Now I look at the before picture and this may be one that should have fallen in the “less is more” category. BUT I do like how this finally turned out. To me, it looks like the perfect piece for a Man Cave, well, other than the Tiffany blue interior shelf area.
We are heading over to Landmark Antiques this afternoon to add to our selling space, space 29 in case you’re dying to know. I’ve had a few inquiries on the French Provincial Buffet piece this past week, so fingers crossed that it sold, and we can slip this piece right into that empty spot.
So here’s the tip on how to hang metal chalkboards….
Don’t believe those glue people when they say it attaches and adheres metal to metal. Liars. After much experimenting trying to attach hangers to the back of these silver plate & aluminum trays, and many nights of being startled out of a dead sleep when the glue decided it was done. We went the direction of soldering the hangers on. It takes a little trial and error to get the soldering pretty, but give it a go.
We have a collection of the chalkboard platters and trays heading off to our space at Landmark Antiques.
