Instagram provides inspiring insight into small businesses. There have been two companies that I’ve watched closely as they built, launched, and grow. The first is a donut shop (oops they spell it the propper way – doughnut) in Costa Mesa, CA @SideCarDoughnuts. It was fun to watch the beautiful & entertaining images as they literally built out their shop space and launched right there on Instagram. Go look! It’s a sort of regular stop for us now, their doughnuts are delicious.
The other business I’ve watched on Instagram is The Potting Shed @tpshomeandgarden. Finally, after wanting to stop in there for way too long, we finally made the trip to Orange, CA right by the Orange Circle. It’s not like it’s that far of a drive, but I don’t think anyone in Southern California likes to drive more than a 10 mile radius beyond their homes. Okay, maybe it’s just me.
I was disappointed that the owner Jack was on a buying trip, so I didn’t get to meet him this time. Not so disappointing is it just gives me an excuse to go again really very soon. Especially after seeing all the goodies they’ve been buying up. My other motive, is that red filing cabinet below that I cannot stop thinking about; it will be perfect in my “she shed” that is in the process of being built right now (although, I think a name other than she shed is needed!).
If you love gardening, if you love vintage, if you love rustic, The Potting Shed is a must! It’s just a couple blocks off the circle in an amazing building. I couldn’t take a bad picture there if I tried.
